The flagship week in the British Lung Foundation events calendar.
Breathe Easy Week is a series of events that take place throughout the UK in June each year, in which the British Lung Foundation’s Breathe Easy support groups around the country help raise awareness of a particular issue relating to lung disease. Topics in previous years include smoking, sleep apnoea and asbestos-related disease.
In 2013, the theme of Breathe Easy Week was… our wonderful Breathe Easy groups themselves! The week raised awareness of the amazing role the groups play in sharing support, advice, experiences and friendship with other local people affected by lung disease.
It also showcased some of the other aspects of being a Breathe Easy group member, such as raising awareness of lung disease in the local media and community, campaigning on key issues affecting care and treatment of lung disease and raising funds both for the groups themselves and for the BLF’s ongoing support, research and campaign work.
Plans for Breathe Easy Week 2014, taking place on 16-22 June, are soon to be finalised. The BLF will shortly be in touch with Breathe Easy groups up and down the country regarding this year's theme and the events and materials that they can use to showcase the fabulous work they do in the community.
