The flagship week in the British Lung Foundation events calendar, Breathe Easy week, will soon be back - bigger and better than ever!
Breathe Easy week is a series of events that take place throughout the UK in June each year, in which the British Lung Foundation’s Breathe Easy support groups around the country help raise awareness of a particular issue relating to lung disease. Topics in previous years include smoking, sleep apnoea and asbestos-related disease.
This year, taking place from 10 - 16 June, the theme of Breathe Easy week 2013 is…our wonderful Breathe Easy groups themselves! The week will aim to raise awareness of the amazing role the groups play in sharing support, advice, experiences and friendship with other local people affected by lung disease.
It will also showcase some of the other aspects being a Breathe Easy group member often entails: raising awareness of lung disease in the local media and community, campaigning on key issues affecting care and treatment of lung disease, and raising funds both for the groups themselves and for the British Lung Foundation’s ongoing support, research and campaign work.
The British Lung Foundation will shortly be in touch with Breathe Easy groups up and down the country regarding the events and materials that they can use to showcase the fabulous work they do in the community. For further information in the meantime, please contact the British Lung Foundation campaigns team, or your local British Lung Foundation office.
