"Northern Ireland has seen the greatest increase in BLF activity anywhere in the UK over the last 2 years. This is due to a combination of the great work being done by our Breathe Easy patient support groups and the amazing efforts of Nessie Blair, the BLF’s Development Officer in Northern Ireland. Lung disease is a huge problem across Northern Ireland but by working together we can provide support to people who need it most and make sure that future generations across Northern Ireland enjoy good lung health with all the benefits in life that come with it. We’re here for you – get in touch."

How we can help you
We provide support and advice to all those affected by, or interested in lung conditions.
There are currently three Breathe Easy Groups in Northern Ireland, which makes up our local support network. They provide a community of friends who understand what it’s like to live with a lung condition. Some groups actively campaign for the improvement of services, others like to fundraise and some prefer to focus on a catch up over a cup of tea. Groups meet monthly to share experiences and listen to guest speakers. Everyone is welcome.
At the British Lung Foundation we’re also keen to protect the lung health of future generations. We do this by lobbying decision makers and governments, as well as running education programmes such as our current ‘Take Five & Stay Alive’ campaign.
How you can help us
We want to continue our good work, but we can’t do it alone. The British Lung Foundation has launched a volunteer project to ensure we are fully supporting those who donate their time and effort to the charity.
There are many ways in which you can get involved, such as supporting a local Breathe Easy group, helping out with a fundraising event, or volunteering in one of our local offices. If you’d like to help or take part, please call 0141 248 0050 or 07902044363 for further details.
