Support Group Network

Our Support Groups need you!

We have a super dedicated National team of volunteers who run our 150 support groups. Many have personal experience of either living with a lung condition or have had someone close to them who has.

Support groups are a great way to meet other people with the same diagnosis, learn more about your condition, help with self-management and support each other emotionally.

We are looking for people who can commit to a minimum of 2 hours a month to organise face to face sessions supporting carers, family and those living with a lung condition in their local community. As a volunteer for the group you will be looking to seek help from others to provide a quality session directly aimed at improving the mental and physical well- being of your members. Volunteering for our network can be demanding but is very rewarding and has a huge impact on those who attend

Do you think there is a need for a support group in your area?  Are you able to commit to setting one up?  Get in touch with us so we can discuss how we can work together.

Research by University of Kent shows that our peer to peer support groups help reduce isolation, build confidence and help reduce emergency hospital admissions. This opportunity will provide you with a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

So  let’s do it! Our dedicated team will help you all the way!

You can email us at blf.supportgroups@blf.org.uk  or phone us on 0300 3030 253 to find out more.
