Research and Medical Director

You already have your CCT in respiratory medicine, and good experience of academic/pharmaceutical research, so you already know that lung disease

We are looking for a medically qualified and motivated Research and Medical Director to join our Senior Management Team. Your strong respiratory background and proven post-graduate research management experience will be essential in leading the BLF’s research grant programme, designed to make a difference to the lives of people living with lung disease.

Your understanding of respiratory medicine and research will make an essential contribution to the overall direction of the British Lung Foundation and its activities. With the support of our Head of Research, you will be responsible for the implementation and development of our research strategy, management and monitoring of research grant awards, and prompt dissemination and development of results.

As the main in house medical voice of the organisation, you will provide medical input and advice on content to other BLF teams when needed. You will be an able and confident communicator, with excellent verbal and presentation skills, comfortable with the idea of considerable media exposure.  You will be happy to support our fundraising team, as they seek to double the funds available for our research programmes.

Salary£80,000 FTE (pro-rata for part-time hours)
