Failing on the fundamentals: our COPD report
Insights from those living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) around the UK
Our new report Failing on the fundamentals used data from a survey of over 8,000 people with COPD to find out new insights into living with COPD, and what care is provided for people with the condition.
The report shows that people living with COPD are not getting the care they need or deserve.
There are thought to be at least 1.3 million people who live with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in the UK but don’t know it. Without treatment, their condition is certain to deteriorate. This is only getting worse; so far an estimated 46,000 people have missed out on a diagnosis of COPD because of the pandemic, as diagnostic testing has stopped.
