Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)

Taking part in IPF research

Researchers are always looking to recruit new study participants, so please do discuss opportunities to get involved in your area with your doctor or specialist nurse.

If you take part in a research project, you might get access to new or otherwise unavailable treatments, while at the same time helping other people with IPF. Have a look at the UK Clinical Trials Gateway website to find out about clinical trials in the UK.

We’re supporting the British Thoracic Society (BTS) in trying to get hospitals involved in a national IPF registry. A UK-wide registry of people who have IPF will help doctors and policy makers to understand more about the condition and improve standards of care. Ask your consultant if your hospital is involved. Find out more on the BTS website.
