Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)

Diagnosing BPD

Your child may have a chest X-ray to diagnose BPD and check for damage.

Your child may also have their blood oxygen levels monitored using a pulse oximeter - a little device clipped onto your baby’s finger, ear or toe.

This can help make sure your baby is getting enough oxygen.

If you have concerns or need advice, call our helpline on 03000 030 555 between 9am and 5pm on a weekday or email them.
