When your child is diagnosed with a lung condition

Understanding your child’s lung condition

If your child has been diagnosed with a breathing or lung condition you’ve probably got lots of questions and concerns.

It can be a scary and confusing time – especially if your child is very ill or has been in hospital.

Things can be even more uncertain if your child has an unconfirmed diagnosis.

It can help to find out more about what your child’s diagnosis means and how it will affect your child.

There are lots of lung and breathing conditions that affect children. Some are similar to adult conditions, but many are very different. Have a look at our information on lung conditions in children for more information.

You might also find it helpful to have a look at our information on how your child’s lungs grow. This can help you understand how your child’s lung condition affects them.
