Back Greater Manchester’s clean air zone

What are the clean air zone plans?

Greater Manchester consulted on their clean air plans in November 2020, they are planning a clean air zone across all ten local authorities.

While this is a great step, it doesn’t go far enough. Private cars contribute the majority of the pollution in the region, yet the plans don’t do anything to restrict their use.

The zone also isn’t planned to start until 2022 and will start off with weaker rules – people’s lungs need protecting now, we can’t afford to wait this long.

Will you fight for healthy lungs?

Evidence shows clean air zones are the quickest way to tackle toxic air. Even though the consultation is now closed, it’s not too late to back the clean air zone.
