Irwin Mitchell Partnership

We’re delighted that Irwin Mitchell, specialists when it comes to legal advice and financial planning, have joined forces with Asthma + Lung UK to improve lung health in the UK, with a three year partnership.

About the partnership

From May 2021, Irwin Mitchell will be supporting our work with the aim of boosting the support services available to people living with lung disease across the four nations.

The partnership will help us to continue providing support to the 6.5 million people living with a lung condition and their families. This will include helping our network of 155 volunteer-led support groups across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales get back up and running again once the COVID-19 restrictions have lifted.

Asthma + Lung UK support groups provide hope, help and companionship to more than 2,250 people affected by all forms of lung disease, and those who look after them. Currently held virtually, the groups regularly benefit from guest speakers.

During the partnership, Irwin Mitchell will get involved in and provide support for Asthma + Lung UK support group activities, such as a Volunteer Conference that aims to bring together the charity’s group support leaders to celebrate their achievements, recognise their contribution and provide further training and networking opportunities.

As part of the partnership, Irwin Mitchell will also join the Living Well Alliance. The Living Well Alliance brings together companies that provide support and services that help improve lives of people living with lung disease.

Sadly through our work we often see the terrible consequences respiratory illnesses, such as silicosis and asthma, can have on people and their families. We’re proud to be partnering with Asthma + Lung UK to raise awareness of the symptoms of respiratory illnesses and of the need for businesses to uphold health and safety laws."

David Johnston-Keay – Specialist Lawyer at Irwin Mitchell

Jatinder Paul, also a specialist lawyer at Irwin Mitchell, added: “It’s vital that people with respiratory illness don’t feel they have to suffer in silence. Help and support, which will can make a real different to people’s lives, is available.”
