What we do

We’re the only UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs. With your support, we’ll make sure that one day everyone breathes clean air with healthy lungs.

We offer hope through research

We've been researching lung conditions for 30 years.

Today, it remains at the heart of what we do.

Our aim is always to improve care - and to prevent, treat and cure lung diseases.

Our research impact

James Chalmers

"I’m very lucky to have been supported by Asthma + Lung UK throughout my career. Without the support of charities like Asthma + Lung UK, young researchers could never develop careers in these areas."

James,  one of our research chairs

research investment 2019

We help people affected by lung conditions

Having lung disease brings questions and anxiety about the future.

We don't want anyone to face that alone.

“Asthma + Lung UK has been amazing support. They have a wealth of information and I’ve found it really helpful. It’s great to know their helpline is there and there’s professionals at the other end of it.”

Our campaigns give you a voice

We aim to prevent lung disease by campaigning for positive change in the UK's lung health.

We're raising awareness about lung disease, the dangers that cause it, and how to look after your lungs.

How you can take action

See what we stand for

Julie Reynolds

"I feel passionately about the Taskforce’s ambitions, which will result in the right support and medication being provided. Too often, people are misdiagnosed and given the wrong treatment, which can have dire results.”

Julie, patient representative on the Taskforce for lung health

The Taskforce published its 5 year plan to improve the nation’s lung health, and the NHS listened and made respiratory an NHS priority for the first time.
