Your Big Breakfast events were a big hit

Heather looks back at your wonderful fundraising breakfasts.

From muffins in Mirfield, to pastries in Portishead - and even croissants in Christchurch, New Zealand - the response to our brand new Big Breakfast campaign has been absolutely fantastic.

So many of you joined the Big Breakfast fun and hosted loads of events throughout November to raise vital funds for the fight against lung disease.

There are far too many events to mention them all here, but I thought I’d share a few stories to give you a taste of what’s been going on…

Business breakfasts

McOnie Agency Big Breakfast 2014

Some of you held a Big Breakfast fundraising event at work, bringing all your colleagues together to enjoy a delicious start to the working day.

Chloe and her colleagues held a Big Breakfast at The McOnie Agency, a PR firm based in Surrey. They invited four local businesses to drop by and enjoy the tasty breakfast treats on offer, raising £130.

Health care professionals tuck in

Helen Beadle Big Breakfast 2014

Doctors, nurses and physios all took part in the in the breakfast fun too. Helen is a senior respiratory physiotherapist who works closely with people affected by lung conditions. Along with her colleagues, she hosted not just 1 but 3 Big Breakfast events after pulmonary rehabilitation classes in November.

At Solihull, Birmingham Heartlands and Good Hope hospitals, patients and staff all enjoyed tucking into some tasty breakfast goodies to support the BLF. Altogether they raised an awesome £108.10!

Starting the day with friends and family

Barbara Harrison Big Breakfast 2014

A Big Breakfast event is a lovely way to get together with your friends and family, and lots of you chose to put on an event at home with your nearest and dearest.

Barbara invited her friends and family round to her flat in Mirfield for cakes and buns. She chose to support the BLF as her brother has COPD.

Her guests enjoyed the delicious breakfast food and also took part in a raffle. Her local MP, Simon Reevell, also came along to show his support and helped Barbara raise over £200!

There were so many brilliant breakfast events up and down the country last month that we've managed to raise over £12,000 already - with more still to come in. This will go such a long way towards the fight against lung disease. To everybody who held or attended an event - thank you so much.

If you’re feeling inspired and would like to host your own Big Breakfast next November, please email and we'll pop you on the list to receive a fundraising pack next year.
