Thanks to our RideLondon cyclists

Sasha offers a huge 'well done' to Team Breathe.

Yesterday, over a hundred amazing Team Breathe cyclists took part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 for the British Lung Foundation.

Despite the remnants of Hurricane Bertha hitting the route, our amazing team battled the wind and rain (and occasionally very bright sunshine!) to cycle an epic 9,030 miles between them to fight lung disease!

Anyone out braving the weather in London or Surrey may have been lucky enough to spot one of our BLF cycle jerseys as the cyclists whizzed along the Olympic route, from the Olympic Park in Stratford, out into Surrey and back to cross the finish line near Buckingham Palace.

I was there with the rest of the BLF events team, cheering on our incredible cyclists as they took on their challenge – and congratulating them on their achievements at the finish line. We had a great day and were so impressed by the determination of all the cyclists taking part. We hope they all had a fantastic day too.

Together they have already raised well over £30,000 and hope to double that amount once all the sponsorship is collected in. That's an incredible sum, and it will help the fight against lung disease so much. We’re so grateful to every single one of you for your support.

If you've been inspired and would like to take part in an event for the BLF, check out some of our favourite events or get in touch with me on 0207 078 7912 or  events@blf.org.uk.

Congratulations to all the cyclists. It was not a nice day to do this. Thank you for supporting the BLF. And thanks to all the supporters for turning out to cheer them on.
