Charity ball

Balls are a great fundraising opportunity and can raise significant funds for ground-breaking research and life-changing support. They are a lot of work, so make sure you have a solid support system in place!

Here’s your charity ball checklist to ensure you’ve got everything you need!

Gather up some help

Why not get together a committee of friends to help you organise the event? Getting a few people involved in the planning will share the work and you’ll find it much easier to sell tickets, making the most of everyone’s contacts.

Create your guest list

Who would you like to invite? Friends, family, colleagues – the more the merrier!

Find your perfect venue

Make sure you choose a venue that will be appealing for your guests and will be big enough to fit everyone in! Always ask if the venue offers charity discounts.

Decide on a ticket price

Remember to factor in cost of the venue, caterers and entertainment.

Book a caterer

Who can help you provide a tasty dinner on the night? Don’t forget to ask guests for allergies and dietary requirements.

Get the entertainment sorted

Find the right entertainment for your guests. What kind of music would they like?

Boost your fundraising

Consider organising a raffle, an auction or some games on the night. These will help you raise even more money! Contact us for a letter confirming you’re raising money for Asthma + Lung UK - this will make it easier to ask local businesses to donate prizes.

Promote it far and wide

Share the details of your event via email, text and on social media. Ask each member of your committee to try and sell a table of tickets. Contact your local newspaper or radio station to ask if they can cover your event.
