How do I get started?

  1. Join our May Hula Hoop Challenge Facebook group and the supportive #TeamBreathe community!
  2. Register through the link in the group and set up your fundraising page to receive your FREE t-shirt and tracker.
  3. Share your page - Let your friends, family and colleagues know all about your challenge and why you’re taking part and watch the donations come rolling in! Everyone raising between £50 - £99 will receive a pin badge and if you raise over £100 you get an exclusive Hula Hoop Challenge Medal!

Challenge FAQs

Join the challenge and hula hoop for 15 minutes every day in May.

You can do your 15 minutes all in one go or break the time up throughout the day. The choice is yours! Adapt the challenge to your ability and schedule.

No – you can make this challenge totally your own. You could hula hoop in 1 minute intervals, for 5 mins throughout the day or do all your hula hooping one 15 minute chunk. It’s up to you!

Everyone that sets up a fundraising page will be sent a paper tracker to tick off the days of the challenge and help them stay on track.

Yes, you can! The challenge is all about learning a new skill and getting better so it doesn’t matter if you can’t hula hoop at the start. We’ll be sending helpful tips and tricks along the way to help you improve your hula hooping skills too. Track your improvement over the 30 days and see how good you get!

No worries if you skip a day – you can make up the minutes on another day that works for you! Or you could pledge to make a donation to your page for every day you miss! 😜

The challenge is all about making it your own, so keep it flexible for you.

Everyone who sets up a fundraising page for our May Hula Hoop Challenge will be posted a t-shirt and tracker. We send these out throughout the week, please allow 10 working days. If you haven’t received your items after this point, please drop us an email to community@asthmaandlung.org.uk and we’ll make sure it’s on its way to you.

The challenge is completely adaptable to you. Keep your supporters up to date on your fundraising page and make sure they are still happy to donate to Asthma + Lung UK. You may wish to reduce the time or even increase it! The choice is yours. What matters most is you are challenging yourself and enjoying raising awareness and funds to help us fight for lung health.

You will still need to register for the event. But you can fundraise on JustGiving instead.
